SkinGuru Spa ("SkinGuru Spa," "we," "us") is a skin and scalp care spa at 522 Wilshire Blvd, Suite J, Santa Monica, CA 90401. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit skinguruspa.com, book or buy from us, call or text us, or visit the spa, and how we use and protect it. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to book, treat and serve you:

- Contact details: name, email, phone number and mailing address, when you book, buy, call, text or email us.

- Booking details: services booked, appointment dates, cancellations and notes, through our online booking (Square Appointments) and phone assistant.

- Payment details: card type and last four digits, billing ZIP and purchase history. Square and GoDaddy process payments; we never see or store your full card number.

- Gift card details: buyer and recipient names, emails or phone numbers, gift message and balance.

- Skin and health information: skin and scalp concerns, medications (for example isotretinoin/Accutane), allergies, pregnancy status, recent procedures, treatment notes and photos you agree to, from intake and consent forms and your treatment records.

- Calls and messages: phone number, call recordings, transcripts, summaries and text messages, when you call or text the spa.

- Website and device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring site and cookies, collected automatically when you visit skinguruspa.com.

- Reviews and social: reviews, comments and messages you send us on Google, Yelp, Instagram, Facebook and similar sites.

How we use and share your information

We use your information to book, confirm, remind you of and reschedule appointments; provide safe treatments suited to your skin, scalp and health history; process payments, gift cards, packages and memberships; answer your calls, texts and emails; send service messages, and marketing only if you opt in; run, secure and improve our website and services; and meet legal, tax and recordkeeping obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We share information only with service providers that help us run the spa, under terms that limit their use of it to providing services to us: Square (online booking, payments, gift cards and customer messages); GoDaddy (website hosting, online store and website forms); Google (email, phone and text messaging, and product listings); Zoho (business email and bookkeeping); UpFirst (AI phone answering, call recording, transcripts and text replies); and shipping carriers (delivering products you order online). We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.

Calls, texts and our AI phone assistant

Calls to SkinGuru Spa may be answered by an AI virtual assistant provided by UpFirst. Calls are recorded and transcribed so we can follow up on bookings, questions and messages, and to improve our service. By staying on the line after the greeting, you consent to the recording. If you do not want to be recorded, hang up and email us at glow@skinguruspa.com instead. When you text us, we receive your number and message, and we may send an automated reply. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts from us at any time. Recordings, transcripts and messages are used only to serve you and run the spa.

Cookies, analytics and Do Not Track

Our website, hosted by GoDaddy, uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences and measure traffic. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies in the banner when you first visit, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features, like the store cart, may not work without them. Third parties such as GoDaddy, Square and Google may collect information about your visits to our site over time, under their own privacy policies. Browsers do not follow one shared standard for Do Not Track signals, so our website does not change how it works when it receives one. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information; because we do not sell or share personal information, no further action is needed.

Your California privacy rights

We honor the following requests from California residents, whether or not a specific law requires it of a business our size:

- Know and access: what personal information we hold about you, and a copy of it.

- Correct: information that is inaccurate.

- Delete: information we hold, except records we must keep by law (for example tax, payment or treatment records).

- Limit: our use of your skin and health information to providing your services.

- Opt out of marketing: at any time, by email, text or the unsubscribe link.

We will not discriminate against you for using these rights. To make a request, email glow@skinguruspa.com or call (323) 746-4374. We will verify your identity by matching information we already have, and respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent with your written permission.

Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83): We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Skin and health information: We treat intake forms, consent forms, medication history and treatment photos as sensitive. We use them only to provide safe care, keep them confidential, and never use them for advertising. No sale or sharing: We have not sold or shared personal information in the past 12 months and do not plan to.

Marketing messages

We send promotional emails or texts only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe with the link in any email, reply STOP to any text, or ask us directly. You will still get messages about appointments you book.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. Treatment and consent records are kept for the length of our client relationship and a reasonable period after. Payment and tax records are kept as tax law requires. Call recordings and transcripts are deleted when no longer needed to follow up.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including password-protected accounts and providers that encrypt payment data. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as California law requires.

Children

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent for treatment. If you are under 18 and posted content on our site, you can ask us to remove it.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. If changes are significant, we will notify you by email or a notice on our website.
